Why Hypnosis?
Hypnosis has made great strides in recent years in becoming a well-known and acceptable method of help and self-help for a number of issues, but there is still something mysterious about it to a lot of people. So how do I go about convincing a stranger that hypnosis is safe and effective? I start by explaining, as I am to you now, perhaps, that hypnosis is:
Simple
Natural
Versatile
A skill, easily learned
Simple
The hypnotic process doesn't involve medication or equipment (although there are some accessories that can be used in conjunction with hypnosis), and most people can be hypnotized in a very short period of time.
Natural
I hope my fellow hypnotists will forgive me for what might seem like giving away trade secrets, but the mystery behind hypnosis ... isn't really a mystery at all. Hypnosis utilizes three basic elements: relaxation, concentration, and imagination, all of which come from and occur within the subject.
Versatile
Hypnosis can be used for numerous purposes. Two of the more widely known purposes would undoubtedly be smoking cessation and weight loss, but they are only the tip of the iceberg. More applications for hypnosis can be found on the Services page of this site.
A skill, easily learned
Since all hypnosis is actually self-hypnosis, it is a logical conclusion that subjects can get better at being hypnotized (hypnotizing themselves). The more often a subject experiences hypnosis, the easier he or she can be hypnotized the next time, in most cases. And since improving at hypnosis doesn't take long (10-15 minutes a day is plenty), there are a number of times during the day when a motivated subject can find time to practice.
What do you think?
You are probably asked this question often in your day to day life, and you probably ask others the same question. I am asking you now, in fact, but in a slightly different context than you might be considering. Our life, to a great extent, is built upon our behavior. Our behavior is built upon our actions. Our actions are built upon our emotions. Our emotions are built upon our thoughts. Using this model, you could say that your thoughts are the foundation of your life. If you are unhappy, you have more unhappy thoughts. If you are angry, you have angry thoughts. If you are loving, you have loving thoughts, and so on. Can you see where this is going? Stated another way, your thoughts are important; all of them! They affect your life perhaps more than you ever imagined they could. So, the question warrants asking: "What do you think?" Hypnosis can help make you aware of your thoughts, emotions, and actions, and best of all, it can help you change all of them. And once that happens, amazing things start to occur in peoples' lives.
I hope you'll browse my website to learn more about hypnosis, about me, and my practice as a Certified Hypnotherapist. I want you to know that hypnosis can absolutely change your life, and I would love to point you in that direction. Feel free to email me with questions, or to set up a free telephone consultation. If your life is missing something, or if there is something about yourself or your life that isn't serving your needs, and makes you unhappy, and if you remember nothing else about this website or me, remember this: It doesn't have to be that way.
Kind regards,
Larry McKinney, CHt
